My first UniVoxBox (featuring some embarrassing selfies)

I got a package today which is always exciting because in a world where email dominates, snail mail is always fun. I was excited to receive the package and see that it was my Influester UniVoxBox made especially for college students! I love free stuff especially good free stuff that is cute and useful! In my VoxBox, I got Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure, Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia, Pilot Acroball PureWhite pen, Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons, and Red Rose REAL TEA Premium Water Enhancer. So basically Influester knows me pretty well.

The first product I tried was the Acroball PureWhite pen. I always take notes in class with pen so this was the first one I was able to test since I got my UniVoxBox right before class. You might think a pen is a just a pen but I love the way this pen writes. The tip is very fine so the words are clear and it doesn't smear which is always a plus! I just wrote my grandma a birthday card with it and I plan on using it all the time in class! The pen writes so smooth and is really comfortable to write with and I'm definitely going to spend the money to buy some more!

The next product I tested was the Broadway Nails imPRESS Maniucre which I was personally not a fan. The pattern wasn't really me and didn't fit my personality. I'll give them this though, the nails are super easy to put on! All you have to do is wash your hands with soap and water and then use the prep pad (which is a rubbing alcohol toilette) and then the tape/glue or whatever it is sticks on so well. I'm not used to press-on nails so they felt really weird on my hands and made my nails feel really hard. I was also terrified that the nails were gonna fall off or break but I'm currently typing this post with them on so they're pretty sturdy. I didn't keep them on long because the idea freaked me out (I'm totally a manicure type of girl, just not the press on kind) but taking them off wasn't too difficult. I wouldn't use the word easy which is what it says on the package but they do peel right off if you put the right amount of pressure.

I can't really test the Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons yet because it's not that time of the month so I'm gonna skip those and move on to the next item.

Next up is NYC New York Color Expert Last Lipstick in Forever Fuchsia (447). This lipstick looks like the shade that Barbie wears and is so pink and bright! I love the idea more than the actual lipstick but if you put just a little bit of lipstick on, it adds a pop of color that is really pretty which is waht I did in the picture below.

The lipstick is great for making a defined shape of your lips and the color is really pretty but I think it goes best with a different skin tone. I have a darker skin tone and so when I put a lot of lipstick on and covered my lips (as in the picture below) it didn't look too good. It would definitely take the right outfit to be able to rock this.

On a day to day basis, I'm usually not a make-up wearer. God blessed me with fairly clear skin but when I am breaking out or it's a special occasion, I usually don't change up the type of make-up I wear. With that being said, it was fun to try to something new. Influester sent me Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Light Ivory which wasn't exactly my skin type but the closest it was gonna get. The first picture below is just the liquid foundations without the usually CoverGirl TruBlend powder foundation that I usually use.

I was gonna include a second picture which was my skin with both the liquid Influester sent me and the CoverGirl powder. In real life my skin tone with the powder was closer to my real skin tone than without it but the pictures look pretty much the same so I decided to not include it.

I really like this foundation, it goes on smooth and does a good job of covering up my blemishes. It is a little bit lighter than my usual make-up but the make-up I'm using now is my summer skin tone which is darker than my winter skin tone. I recommend this to all because it does exactly what it's supposed to and well!

My last product to test was Red Rose Real Tea Premium Water Enhancer in Black Tea. I used my fancy camera lens mug to test it out to add a little style. The instructions say one squeeze for each 8 fl oz but when I did one squeeze it taste like black tea flavored water so I added another squeeze and it tasted okay at first but the more I tasted it the more I wasn't a fan. I ended up pouring it out and making a trip to Starbucks but that's just my taste. I think it's because I'm so used to fresh brewed sweet iced tea that it's made me a little spoiled.

I wanna think Influester for the opportunity to get this UniVoxBox and test out all of the cool free stuff in it! It was so great to try out these products, many of which I'll purchase again. If you don't have an Influester account, I highly recommend it cause it's so easy and fun!

I received these products complimentary from Influester for testing purposes.

3 Steps Towards Organization

My first day back to classes after Spring Break and I'm feeling stressed as ever. I think it's partially because I'm really missing my family and Trevor but still, I'm stressed. I think this is a perfect time to share some organization tips to y'all out there because even though I'm very organized, I still need a reminder from time to time.

1. Daily Schedule
Okay so yeah, a monthly planner is very helpful and helps you see what's going on in March but when stress is really an issue, a daily planner is a gift from God. The one I use has time slots and you write in what you're doing at each time of the day so you can see when things overlap and how to fit things into your schedule.
Check out the one I use here:

2. Weekly Schedule
Have an especially busy week coming up? If you only have a monthly planner no worries! Weeks when I really need something mapped out I use this adorable Lilly Weekly Planner I found on Pinterest because really, who doesn't love being organized in style? I love this so much and props to whoever made it!

3. Charging Station
I don't know about you, but my chargers are always a mess. I've broken approximately 5 iPhone 5 chargers because they get thrown in my purse. I've been eyeing the charging station box from Target for months now and I was happy to find that it is now only $6! If you're not into spending money (I totally feel ya but I can't say no to a good deal) then you can make your own! All you need is a shoebox and some cute supplies to make it look fab. Here's a link to an example I found on Pinterest! Check it out here:

So what I've learned is that being organized is the way to a less stressful life and who said you can't organize in style?

Spring Break Recap

So I'm back at JMU after Spring Break and wondering if it's really spring because, I don't know about you, but it's looking more like a winter wonderland or Christmas over here in the valley. Don't believe me? This is a picture from outside my dorm yesterday and it's STILL SNOWING.

But anyways, I'll get back to what I did over spring break and stop complaining about the chilly weather.

I left school on Friday and went home to hangout with my family which I was so thankful for because I really needed a break to relax and not stress (I feel like that's not good grammar...). Saturday I got to hangout with three of my favorites, my cousins Kate, Joe, and Gavin. Gavin is two and it's crazy to me that the two or three months since I've seen him has led to him growing up so much in that short time. I love his adorable phrases that he says like, "That's so tasty" which leaves me laughing at how adorable he is.

But seriously, is that not the cutest little boy you've ever seen?

The rest of the week seemed to fly by. I spent it applying for jobs, hanging out with Trevor, getting lunch with both of my grandma's, catching up with my good friend Morgan who I've missed so much. Not to mention I got to cuddle with this cute cat even though he was attacking my hair. I've got to admit even that was cute.

Although it feels like the middle of December today, the weather was so nice this past week making for the best Spring Break. After a Starbucks run I was able to appreciate having my sunroof open and seeing a beautiful American flag waving through the blue sky (so of course I had to Instagram it).

My mom took off a whole day so that we could hangout and go shopping which made me so happy because I really miss my mom while I'm at school. We went to Short Pump and the Cheesecake Factory (aka heaven on Earth) and it was such a fun day. I know she won't be happy that I posted this picture but I think it's adorable.

The end of my break was by far the best. I got to eat lunch with two of my future roomies and two of my best friends. If you've ever been to Orange, VA you know that it'd be wrong to go there without stopping by El Vaquero so that's where we enjoyed our lunch. My friend Mandy from UVA was there too but unfortunately she didn't make the picture cause she was a forced to sit by me (totally joking).

I got to go to my first NBA game which I was beyond excited for. Trevor has really got me into watching basketball and so being able to go to a game was an awesome experience. I went with Trevor, Daniel, and his friend Courtney and although DC traffic is awful, it was so much fun. I'm so glad we stopped by Chick fil A on the way there because the chicken sandwich meal at the Verizon Center was 12 DOLLARS. Excuse me? I also got this super cute picture of me and Trevor in our Wizards shirts.

Sorry for the overwhelming amount of information where I try to make my week at home sound more exciting than a trip to PCB. I may not have taken a trip to the beach but I'd say spending time with all the people I love is just as good or better.

One last shoutout to JMU for the snow day on St. Patrick's Day! Have fun wearing green!

A Little About Me

Although I talk about things I do in my life, I never really talk about who I am and what I like so here's a little Blogmopolitan Quiz that I took from www.therachaelway.com (an awesome blog that all of y'all should check out) that will give a little insight into who I am!

Also, I don't know about y'all but I'm so tired of this snow. Spring time is calling my name.
